Carved out of a single piece of clay (known as Kurinuki a Japanese method) this is a very time consuming technique but highly rewarding, the final result is beautifully rustic and has a primitive feel to it.

This little footed vessel makes the perfect dish to keep on your table to hold salt/spices/pepper/olive oil.

Its been created out of a rustic gritty clay body and has been glazed in a grey/white glaze allowing the heavy speckles to shine thru. The undersides of the little feet have been left bare.
